About Chua Ly Trieu Quoc Su

The Chua Ly Trieu Quoc Su, or Ly Trieu Quoc Su Pagoda, is a quintessential Vietnamese-style temple in Hanoi. It has ornate walls painted yellow and red. Although Chua Ly Trieu Quoc Su was first erected 1131, it has been renovated many times since then.

Ly Trieu Quoc Su Pagoda is also known as Chua Kong, or Confucious Pagoda. The inside of the Ly Trieu Quoc Su Pagoda is said to house many finely carved statues as well as lacquered wooden statues, some dating back to the 15th century.

Getting there

Ly Trieu Quoc Su Pagoda is on the same road as St Joseph's Cathedral. From St Joseph's Cathedral, go along Ly Quoc Su Street with the cathedral on your left, and you will arrive at Ly Trieu Quoc Su Pagoda within a minute or two.
