About Hoa Phuong

Hoa Phuong is a standalone tower on the east bank of Ho Hoan Kiem in Hanoi. It marks the entrance of the former Bao An Pagoda complex which was demolished by the French in the 1890s when they recontructed the city. You would easily pass through the Hoa Phuong if you are walking around the lake, as I did a few times, during my stay in Hanoi.

Beware of pickpockets around the Ho Hoan Kiam. My wife almost had her purse taken by a pickpocket but luckily she realised something was amiss early enough. The thief threw her purse to the ground and got away when she turned around.

Getting there

Hoa Phuong is on the eastern back of the Ho Hoan Kiem. You will come across it when you walk around the lake.
