Tam Coc

About Tam Coc
Tam Coc is a tourist destination in Ninh Binh Province in northern Vietnam. It is a terrain dominated by jagged limestone outcrops and looming karst towers. The awesome limestone formations have often been compared to Halong Bay, earning Tam Coc the title of "Halong Bay on Land". The Ngo Dong River runs through this amazing landscape, and has since been tapped as a tourist attraction.
The name Tam Coc means Three Caves, and refers to the three massive caverns that you will pass through by boat, under the huge limestone mountains. Along the way, you witness life in rural Vietnam happening under those huge karst formations. The three caves of Tam Coc are Hang Ca, Hang Hai and Hang Ba. The largest is 125 meters long. Its ceiling is 2 meters above the water surface.
