About Vietnam National University

The Le Thanh Tong Campus of the Vietnam National University is located at 19 Le Thanh Tong. The Le Thanh Tong Campus is in a somewhat run-down ochre-colored colonial-style building, and houses the School of Pharmaceutics.

The Vietnam National University was founded as the University of Indochina in 1906. It was the first genuine university in Indochina. It became the University of Hanoi in 1956 and was the first university of basic sciences in Vietnam.

The Vietnam National University (VNU) was created in 1993 by the amalgamation of three universities namely the University of Hanoi, Hanoi Teachers’ Training College No.1 and Hanoi Foreign Language Teachers’ Training College.
